Yahoo is an American based multinational technology company whose headquarter in is California. Yahoo provides a large number of services online for the user either free or paid. Yahoo were founded by Jerry Yang and David Filo in year 1994. Currently, Marissa Mayer who was former Google executive, and now serving as CEO to Yahoo Incorporation.
Yahoo was previously running as *Jerry and David's guide to the World Wide Web*. The 'Jerry and David's guide to the World Wide Web' was simply a directory of Websites. Yahoo is abbreviated as 'Yet Another Hierarchically Organized Oracle'.
Yahoo provides similar facilities as Google and competing each other, where Bing is with Yahoo now. A big decision was taken in year 2012 that Yahoo will not collect user information however in year 2014 it announced to restarting the tracking of users.
Yahoo have also jumped in communication sector by introducing Yahoo Messenger and Yahoo Mail service. Yahoo also provides social networking services like My Web, Yahoo Personals, Delicious, Flickr and Yahoo Buzz.
Yahoo also provides latest cricket updates through its "Yahoo Cricket *services*". It also provides News, Games, Lifestyle, Movies, Celebrity, Answers, Property, Screen, Shopping, Astrology, Calendar, Groups, Notepad and Small Business with Tech, Toolbar, Transliteration, Travel and Weather.
Yahoo is in-partnerships with AT&T Incorporation, Verizon Communication, Rogers Communications and British Telecom. Yahoo provides advertisement services by its "Yahoo Search Marketing". It provides Sponsored Search, Local Advertising and Product/Travel/Directory.
Once, there was a time when Yahoo guaranteed listing on Yahoo by paid inclusion system. Yahoo's first logo was launched with launch of company in year 1994.
